I started out as a teacher. One of the first things I realized is that teaching is not so different from financial planning-each client, like my students, is unique with their own strengths, history and life circumstances. To be an effective teacher, I had to understand my students, what motivated them, what held them back and use that knowledge to help them achieve their goals. What I loved most about teaching was the positive impact I could have on a young person's life. That's the same reason I love being a financial advisor.
Every client has their own unique story, their own unique goals and dreams. My job is to listen and understand what my clients are trying to achieve and help them develop a strategy to make those goals a reality. It's important to understand not only what the strategy is but also why it's appropriate given a client's specific circumstances. After almost 34 years as a financial advisor, making sure clients understand their options and turning those options into reality is an integral part of my practice. We've all been there-how many times have you told yourself that you'll get to it when you have the time. Unfortunately, planning for retirement won't wait. And failure to plan is planning to fail. Don't let time and opportunities pass you by. Let's get started today. Call me at our westside office at (316) 260-4064.
